WINEMAKER NOTES

“Blueprint Sauvignon Blanc 2024 is bright, light yellow, and bursts forth with aromatics of guava, sweet pea, citrus peel and lemongrass. This is an intense wine, with great intensity and nerve. The texture is creamy and complex, with amazing cripsness and bold acidity. Fruit flavors include green apple, melon, Bosc pear, and a hint of pineapple. This is totally complete Blueprint Sauvignon Blanc, one of the best we have made.”— Philippe Melka & Maayan Koschitzky, Winemakers

“The 2022 Blueprint Cabernet Sauvignon is deep garnet with purple edges, revealing vibrant aromas of black and Bing cherry and boysenberry. Flavors follow in step, adding blue and red fruits with notes of cocoa, black olive and sage. It is richly-layered with wonderful freshness and bright energy. 2023 Sauvignon Blanc

Georgia is grown on a three acre, dry-farmed estate vineyard in Yountville. This exquisite, Graves-style (dry white Bordeaux) Sauvignon Blanc is fermented and aged in 100% French oak barrels for eighteen months. It displays unprecedented depth and complexity, amazing texture, and a long lingering finish. Lail Vineyards was the first winery in the New World to produce a Sauvignon Blanc in this complex and captivating style, beginning with the 2002 vintage. The proprietary name celebrates the first member of the sixth generation of our family’s winemaking in Napa Valley, Georgia Eileen. It has been called by a leading wine writer”…California’s most complex and multi-dimensional Sauvignon Blanc.”

WINEMAKER NOTES

“ Medium Straw in color, the 2023 Georgia Sauvignon Blanc is intense and spirited, bursting forth with stone fruit, tangerine, and honeysuckle aromas. The flavors include pineapple, mango, Meyer lemon and mint. This is the classic minerality and toasted brioche, with white truffle and coconut intertwined, snapped together by the signature acidity and energy of the Totem Vineyard. One hundred percent Sauvignon Blanc, it screams of the wonderful growing season that was vintage 2023.”

J. DANIEL CUVÉE STORY

“I was raised by my dad. John Daniel, Jr., in the grand family tradition of Inglenook. He was, like Gustave Niebaum before him, a leader, an innovator, and the producer of legendary wines. Our flagship wine at Lail Vineyards, the J. Daniel Cuvée Cabernet Sauvignon, is named in his honor. My greatest challenge at Lail Vineyards is to create wines that meet and exceed the level of excellence set by my family in earlier generations."- Robin Daniel Lail

WINEMAKER NOTES

“Vintage 2022's growing season was challenging, testing the vineyard and winemaking teams alike. Lengthy hot weather in early September created stress in the vines and slowed ripening. Once the vines rebounded, the fruit yielded powerful flavors with early accessibility. The tannins are focused, ripe and round. Aromas and flavors tend to the black fruits, with ripe aromas and soft mouthfeel. This vintage will deliver flavorful wines with immediate appeal and superb drinkability." — Philippe Melka & Maayan Koschitzky, Winemakers

2023 Cabernet Sauvignon

Wells Wilder Casten is the youngest of our family’s 6th generation. Her name is derived from the Wellington boot, first commissioned by the Duke of Wellington in 1815. A nod to our farming heritage, wellies are a hallmark of country life, both hardy and elegant. Fittingly our Welly has a singular love of gumboots and tutus, a teeny starburst in the vineyard and on the street. Like its spirited namesake, our Welly Cabernet Sauvignon is unabashedly expressive and pure. This wine is our tribute to her, and to our family’s 140 years of turning dirt into liquid splendor.

VINTAGE AND TASTING NOTES

“Vintage 2023 was a textbook perfect growing season in Napa Valley, with none of the trauma (heat spikes, wildfires) of some recent years. The fruit matured slowly and evenly, with harvest picking decisions based solely on optimum ripeness and flavor maturity. For Welly, this yielded deep purple-black color, with aromas of ripe plum, briary black rapsberry, wild blackberry, and forest floor. Flavors include black cherry, boysenberry, loganberry, toasted coconut, and black gooseberrries. It has fine, creamy texture, and is luxurious, velvety and full-bodied, finishing seamless, rich, and classy, with great tension and bright acidity.” — Philippe Melka & Maayan Koschitzky, Winemakers

The Henry is kismet; a seamless expression of legacy and land. It is a tribute to Henry Dixon, the first male in the 6th generation of our winemaking family. His name means "King of the House", and his personality abides - honorable, protective and kind. Pure Cabernet Sauvignon, The Henry is composed of six Napa Valley nested appellations, a fitting expression of the depth and harmony of unique terroirs. This namesake blend is a celebration of heritage - shaped by diverse land and distinct generations. It is storytelling, our way.

WINEMAKER NOTES

“Vintage 2023 is the first-ever bottling of The Henry. Wow, what a way to start. The bright deep purple-red color leads to aromas of fresh rapsberry, black currant, and toasty oak vanillin. Flavors include black cherry, Asian spices, blueberry, blackberry purée, dark chocolate and ripe plum. The texture is creamy, lush and suave, with soft tannins and vivid acidity. Finishing long, firm, rich and powerful, this debut bottling sets a high standard for The Henry wines to come.”                                                               — Philippe Melka & Maayan Koschitzky, Winemakers
