“We invite you to explore our collection of seven wines…”
2025 Sauvignon Blanc

In February 2019, Robin Lail was made the U.S. Ambassador to the Porto Protocol, a global initiative asking companies to demonstrate their leadership on climate action and share best practices. Our Blueprint wines celebrate these pioneers and architects of innovation for putting the health of our planet ahead of quarterly reports and the bottom line. At Lail Vineyards we invite you to do the same. Make a commitment. Inspire your neighbor.

WINEMAKER NOTES

“The 2025 Blueprint Sauvignon Blanc is intense, persistent and precise. It leaps out of the glass with aromas including Kaffir lime, tangerine, passionfruit and jasmine. The flavors add notes of grapefruit, nectarine, gooseberry and lemongrass. There is evident minerality, buoyed by hints of mint and crushed herbs. Finely-textured, vibrant and focused, the harmony and clarity shine brilliantly through a long and glorious finish.”

WINEMAKER NOTES

“Vintage 2024 may well be the quintessential expression of the Blueprint Cabernet Sauvignon bottling. It combines seven nested AVAs from a total of eleven different vineyards spread across the entire valley, each adding another voice to the chorus. Deep purple-blue in color, it has full-throttled aromas of black cherry, violets, ripe plum and black raspberry. There is minerality and lush texture that grabs attention, with toasty oak flourishes bolstering the flavors of blackbery puree, rapsberry, and chocolate. The tannins are fine, creamy and refined, leading into a finish that is long, elegant and sophisticated. It is a winning wine from a rare and special growing season.”

2024 Sauvignon Blanc

Georgia is grown on a three acre, dry-farmed estate vineyard in Yountville. This exquisite, Graves-style (dry white Bordeaux) Sauvignon Blanc is fermented and aged in 100% French oak barrels for eighteen months. It displays unprecedented depth and complexity, amazing texture, and a long lingering finish. Lail Vineyards was the first winery in the New World to produce a Sauvignon Blanc in this complex and captivating style, beginning with the 2002 vintage. The proprietary name celebrates the first member of the sixth generation of our family’s winemaking in Napa Valley, Georgia Eileen. It has been called by a leading wine writer”…California’s most complex and multi-dimensional Sauvignon Blanc.”

WINEMAKER NOTES

“ Exuberant, powerful and spirited, this vintage of Georgia positively leaps forth with aromas of apricots, white truffle, clementine orange and jasmine. The signature minerality is here in spades, as is the bright, driving acidity that provides focus and nerve. Flavors include white peach, lemon confit, mint, honeydew melon and toasted almond. This is a prodigious Georgia, briming with personality and zeal. It should rank among the very finest ever produced.”

2023 Cabernet Sauvignon

100 points - Jonathan Cristaldi, Decanter Magazine

J. DANIEL CUVÉE STORY

“I was raised by my dad. John Daniel, Jr., in the grand family tradition of Inglenook. He was, like Gustave Niebaum before him, a leader, an innovator, and the producer of legendary wines. Our flagship wine at Lail Vineyards, the J. Daniel Cuvée Cabernet Sauvignon, is named in his honor. My greatest challenge at Lail Vineyards is to create wines that meet and exceed the level of excellence set by my family in earlier generations."- Robin Daniel Lail

WINEMAKER NOTES

“The 2023 growing season was long, cool and easy. Harvest was later than typical recently, and evenly-spaced out - allowing us to pick at the perfect moments. Aromas of black cherry, cassis, black raspberry, and dark chocolate burst forth. The signature flavors of blackbery jam, boysenberry, and black tea are here in spades. It is elegant and silky, and at the same time powerful, complex and insistent. The tannins are focused, ripe and round, with supporting acidity that is bright and lively. There is concentration, clarity and drive that add up to a gorgeous expressive of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon at its very highest level."

Wells Wilder Casten is the youngest of our family’s 6th generation. Her name is derived from the Wellington boot, first commissioned by the Duke of Wellington in 1815. A nod to our farming heritage, wellies are a hallmark of country life, both hardy and elegant. Fittingly our Welly has a singular love of gumboots and tutus, a teeny starburst in the vineyard and on the street. Like its spirited namesake, our Welly Cabernet Sauvignon is unabashedly expressive and pure. This wine is our tribute to her, and to our family’s 145 years of turning dirt into liquid splendor.

VINTAGE AND TASTING NOTES

“The 2024 growing season in Napa Valley was close to perfect, which allowed the flavors and structure to develop slowly and precisely. Deep purple-black color, Welly Cabernet Sauvignon in this vintage gives up crushed wild blackberries, black cherry preserves, oolong tea and candied violets. The brambly black fruit favors (loganberry, marionberry, boysenberry, olallieberry) are here in spades, accented by sweet oak vanillin and dark chocolate. The full-bodied palate explodes with a powerhouse of black mulberry, dewberry and super-ripe plum layers, framed by ripe, velvety tannins. The finish is seamless, luxurious, and opulent, with amazing tension and class. A brilliant Welly.”

THE HENRY is kismet - a seamless expression of legacy and land. Named for Henry Dixon, the first male of our 6th generation - honorable, protective and kind - this pure Cabernet Sauvignon unites six Napa Valley nested appellations in a blend that honors heritage, character, and place. This is storytelling, our way.

WINEMAKER NOTES

“THE HENRY in vintage 2024 is fantastic. It hits the glass showing off its Brilliant color-deep ruby with purple edges, and immediately captivates with aromas of toasted coconut, forest floor, blackberry puree and sandalwood. Flavors include boysenberry, black cherry, dark chocolate and cassis. There is great energy here, with nerve and drive, and a creamy texture coupled to vivid acidity and soft, lush tannins, ripeness abounds, as does persistence and power, but also the promise for long life ahead in the bottle. Enjoy! ”

WINEMAKER NOTES

“Vintage 2023 was pure beauty in Napa Valley, with an easy growing season delivering grapes with wonderful balance and intensity. The bounteous harvest yielded more fruit than our flagship J. Daniel Cuvée needed, so we produced a couple hundred cases of this distinct Howell Mountain bottling. Its tantalizing aromas of dark chocolate, espresso, and black cherry lead into broad and layered wild blackberry, boysenberry, and black raspberry flavors. It is framed by classic briar, vanilla cream and mocha notes supported by elegant and fine tannins and taut acidity. This is a classic expression of Howell Mountain Cabernet at its very finest.”
